Great Googly Moogly!

Happy Wednesday all! Having a good week so far? Mine has been thankfully uneventful and I've been able to get some crocheting done. I'm making a blanket for my grandmother!

Today's mani is in no way at all practical for everyday wear. In fact it didn't even last more than 20 minutes but I still love it. I freaking love googly eyes! I'm a firm believer in the theory that googly eyes can make ANYTHING funny. One of my favorite websites is nothing but Magic the Gathering playing cards with googly eyes on the monsters (Magic Cards With Googly Eyes). I seriously can't look at them without laughing. So of course when I was grocery shopping and saw a pack of googly eyes for less than a dollar you know there was no way I was leaving without them. The following mani then happened and made me laugh hysterically like an idiot at myself for like a half hour.

Polishes used:

  • Seche Rebuild base coat / Seche Vite top coat
  • Maybelline Color Show Go Go Green
  • China Glaze Electric Pineapple
  • Googly eyes

I did a thin coat of Go Go Green with a second thin coat of Electric Pineapple for my monstery green background, then when it was dry stuck on some little googly eyes. I stood in the kitchen shaking my hand near my head to hear the googly eyes make noise for like five minutes and giggling. My husband is now more sure than ever that I am insane. But how can you even care when there are freaking googly eyes on your hands?! YOU CAN'T! They're just too much fun! I may need to hit up a craft store for the super tiny ones and see if they can last more than about 20 minutes with some top coat cause man I loved this.

Are you guys doing anything fun and silly in preparation for Halloween?

  1. Ahahahaha, that is SO awesome! And thank you so much for that Magic Cards w/ Googly Eyes website. Freaking hilarious. I think my favourite so far is the "Catacomb Slug". Bahaha.

As for fun and silly in preparation for Halloween... at some point we shall carve a pumpkin. We've also decorated and begun to host weekly gatherings to watch The Walking Dead on Sundays! Which seems fairly festive to me. We call it "Zoms N Noms", because it's also a potluck. Yes, it's as awesome as it sounds. :D

  4. I used some smaller googly eyes for an elephant manicure once - I stuck them on using nail glue (I didn't put any topcoat on top because I wanted to be able to reuse them) and they lasted a good week (before one came off in my hair...it turned up later tho!).
