My first weekend back in NY I went to get a hair cut and what is sitting there by the counter as I pay? Nail polish displays! You know I went through them all. Sitting there with a big ol' sale sticker on it was something that caught my eye. My heart skipped a beat, could it really be? It was! And only one bottle to be seen! STONE COLD! For those of you who don't know, this was the main thing I wanted from the China Glaze Capitol Colors collection from the Hunger Games but I just could not seem to get my hands on it. A true matte polish that dries a gorgeous dark stone gray? Yes please! As a bonus, top coat makes this sucker shine and shimmer like you wouldn't believe.
So of course I wore the heck out of it as a matte for like a week, I didn't even care that it chipped like most mattes do. Then my mom hands me a bag from Walmart and inside is a few Sally Hansen polishes that I surprisingly didn't have, sweet! The rest as I'm sure you can guess is history, they came together to bring you the following return to blogging celebration mani!
Polishes used:
- Seche Rebuild base coat / Seche Vite top coat
- Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Blue Me Away!
- China Glaze Stone Cold (leopard spots)
- Sally Hansen Gem Crush Glitz Gal
I will of course be featuring Stone Cold in it's matte form for you all at some point but I just couldn't resist seeing if I could stamp with it. Clearly I can lol. It looked really amazing as matte leopard spots (and I am seriously kicking myself for not taking pictures at that point) but I was afraid of chipping so it got to be nice and shiny with a top coat. The accent nails are Glitz Gal which was only two coats. I have to say I love how well those Gem Crush polishes build up. I kept this one on for quite a while. I thought it was awesome even though all the old people in my life looked at me like I was crazy. Eh, you darn kids and your music. GET OFF MAH LAWN!
Do you guys have family members who understand your nail polish love or do they just shake their heads at you like mine?
Oooh Stone Cold looks great glossy! I don't remember it looking that glittery...I think I need to wear mine again.
ReplyDeleteIt really does have some great hiddden sparkle, though the accent nails are straight up glitter the Stone Cold looks like it can hold it's own next to it.
DeleteIt's a Stone Cold kinda day for both of us! Totally gonna stamp with mine next time. I used to wear Blue Me Away all the time, until I got a little blue crazy and now I have like 12 similar colors.
ReplyDeleteBtw, your nails look super pretty! Long & healthy.
It's a new shade of blue for me, before I had mostly dark metallic kinds or the super light ones like Cinderella. I'm diggin it.
DeleteHa, you say that now, but wait till Friday's post when they're all short cause I broke some >.<
O_O So pretty!!! Welcome back ^-^
