Near my house there is a zombie event hosted by the town where you dress up like zombies and wander the streets. Awesomeness, yes? Yes! So of course this called for zombie nails. I had so much fun doing these I can't even put it into words. All I can do is share the awesome.
This is my favorite pic! |
The rest are before the matte top coat, outdoor lighting.
Polishes used:
- Seche Rebuild base coat / Seche Vite top coat
- Essie Marshmallow
- Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby
- Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Bittersweet
- China Glaze Electric Pineapple
- NYC Matte Me Crazy top coat
I am so in love with how these turned out. I am kinda sad I didn't take pics before any top coats at all because it looked pretty darn cool all textured from the dry brushing. Oh well, lesson learned. If I ever do a tutorial I will take pics at that stage. Time for the break down! I started with a thin coat of Marshmallow because let's face it, I'm pale but zombies are even more pale. Then I took a small dry brush and dabbed around the edges with a mixture of Ruby Ruby and Bittersweet. I then added in some small dabs of Electric Pineapple for the sickly yellow/green effect. You may notice some fingerprints which is from me using my finger to dab at it further and mix stuff around. As you may have guessed I was very big on fingerpaints as a child. And last week.
Overall this look was very easy to do and so much fun! Just so you all know, it looks really really funny when you crochet with zombie nails. I am the most dexterous of all the zombies! I'd be like the one zombie that could open doorknobs. Also, anytime you hold anything in your hands to eat with these nails I think it may be a law that you have to say "braaaaaiiiiiins". (The previous statement is exactly why I will never be in politics, those are the kinds of laws I would pass. I would make the most awesome and useless congresswoman.)
I think that about wraps it up for this post. Hope you all are having lots of Halloween type fun this weekend. I'm off to be a zombie some more!
