My First Swatch!

It's time for my very first swatch! And what better polish to use for my very first swatch than... *drum roll* ...my very first China Glaze! After much drooling over the many China Glaze swatches on other blogs, I finally got my hands on one of my very own. Granted it wasn't hard, it just took me a while to drag myself into Sally's. I was originally planning on For Audrey because it photographed such a lovely light blue but after seeing it in person and on the swatch they had there I decided it was too close to an aqua tone. My stash is still small and so I'm trying not to go too close to colors I already have for a while and I already have an aqua shade from Sinful. In the end I decided on the lovely Secret Peri-wink-le. I have some natural light vs. camera flash pics for you all since I waited too long to photograph this one night and the color looked kind of off. Pic spam, ahoy!

Natural light pics, you can see how it's a bit more of a dusty denim type blue in the sunlight.

Polishes used:

  • Sinful Colors base coat / Seche Vite top coat
  • China Glaze Secret Peri-wink-le (2 coats)
Overall I am very pleased with my first China Glaze polish. The first coat was a tiny bit streaky but I think that was my own terrible polishing technique as I am still learning the best way to do things. A second super smooth coat fixed that right up though and it had a beautiful shine before top coat. I am really loving this color for spring and I'm glad I went with it. It will definitely be making an appearance in my upcoming Easter nails. Thanks for reading!
