What Not To Wear - Nail Edition

Today is a day of fail. Unless you really love neon colors swirling together until they make you want to puke. In that case you'll love this mess.

I was wondering what to do for today and decided an experiment with neons would be summer appropriate. Started out with a white base so I don't use a million coats of neon color? Check. Feeling like I know what I'm doing. Admire said neon and think "this is so freakin bright... it needs stamping!"? Check. Have the stupid idea to stamp over one neon with two more neons? Check. This is where the slow-motion scene of horrible impending disaster starts. It's already happening and it can't be stopped! Abandon all hope, ye who read on.

Lobster hands, thanks a lot artificial light.

Polishes used:
  • Sally Hansen Salon Manicure base coat / Seche Vite top coat
  • Essie Blanc
  • China Glaze Celtic Sun
  • Sinful Colors Hazard
  • Sinful Colors Dream On
  • Red Angel stamping plate RA-106

So imagine these pictures only like ten times brighter, in person it is bordering on obnoxious. It's like Toucan Sam took some acid and puked Fruit Loops on my fingers. Also good luck getting that mental image out of your head today. I would like to formally apologize for any bouts of vertigo or horrible 80's flashbacks my nails may have caused you. I will be removing these as soon as the combination of colors and acetone fumes stop making the room spin >.<

  1. Lolz, I just imagined Toucan Sam on a coke bender in the 80's throwing up everywhere around people on LSD or acid and everyone tripping balls because of his amazing colorful puke. Sorta like how Family Guy depicted Chester Cheetah. Too much?

I'm actually loving the nails! From a distance though. Like if you were on the bus next to me I'd stand up and sit somewhere further away but still admire your nails.

    1. LOL definitely not too much. Was pretty perfect actually.

I lol'd so hard just now at the thought of people in public moving away from me because of my nails. Like how animals are brightly colored for defense purposes. I'M POISON, Y'ALL, DON'T EAT ME!

  2. These nails are perfect for say a night at the discothèque. Specifically one where everyone is dropping moon rocks and acid.

    1. Hahaha yes. If I was smart I would have put a glow in the dark top coat on before stamping and then gone to a rave and freaked everyone out.

  3. Lol. I love that you titled this WNTW. Lol. Overall though if you're into neons I think it looks good ;)

    1. I've kind of adjusted to them over the course of the day. I put a matte coat on and now it kinda looks like those fuzzy black light posters you can color.

  6. I don't think it looks bad at all. It is not coming across such a bright neon either. Of what I am seeing, it looks pretty good. : )

    1. My camera kind of couldn't comprehend what it was looking at lol, it was sooo much brighter in person. Celtic Sun is such an awesomely eye-searing highlighter yellow, I love it.

  7. I would totally do that to my nails then sit on my couch or wherever and rotate them so I could see if it were possible to hypnotize myself with the swirly pattern. THEN I'm sure my cat would squeak at me, shocking me back into reality leaving me either thinking I was a cat as well or so thoroughly traumatized that I could never look at nail polish again.

The above is just a hypothetical [yet entirely possible and probably] scenario that I may or may not try to play out at a later date.

Synopsis: LOVE THIS! ...I wonder what the WNTW people would think of my nails...

    1. Were you looking in my living room window that afternoon?! Haha, I totally was moving my hand around staring at them. My cat doesn't squeak though, he kinda chirps.
